We will not be accepting drug drop offs at any of our locations (until further notice).
The Sheriff’s Office is following recommendations from both the Ohio Department of Health and Public Health – Dayton & Montgomery County to take necessary precautions to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
We will provide additional updates as they become available.
Drop off your unwanted or expired medication at:
Sheriff's Office Headquarters
345 W. Second Street.
(Monday-Friday 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.)
Jefferson Township Substation
555 Infirmary Road
(Monday-Friday 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.)
Washington Township Government Center
8200 McEwen Rd.
The goals of this program are to keep drugs off the street, prevent overdoses and accidental poisonings, and avoid environmental contamination.
Items that can be placed in the Drug Drop Box:
- -Over the Counter (OTC).
- -Veterinary Medications
Items that should not be placed in the box include:
- -needles or sharps
- -biohazard materials
- -illegal drugs.
With this new drug collection point in the lobby of the headquarters, citizens can drop off their unwanted medication at their convenience, rather than having to wait for a special event. All medications will be properly disposed of by the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
