Communications Technician II
Communication Technician installs and maintains a full range of radio communications systems including installing and removing communications and emergency equipment in Sheriff’s Office vehicles; buildings; diagnosing problems with communications equipment, mobile data computers, public safety upfitter equipment and automotive electrical and mechanical components.
Communication Technician applicants must be at least 21 years old, possess a valid Ohio driver’s license, understand system of mechanical procedures, automotive technical and radio communications manuals, and must pass a written knowledge test in electronics and automotive of 70% or greater. Applicants must be able to pass a test involving a practical exercise in troubleshooting and repairing an upfitter emergency equipment install.

- List training and certifications you have in the field of automotive service/repair, mechanical and electronics.
- What experience do you have on working in the automotive mechanical, electronics and/or two-way radio communications.
- What experience do you have on working with public safety emergency equipment.
The hourly pay for the Communication Technician II position ranges from $21.44-$28.50 hourly.
