The Legal Process Section is located at the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Headquarters, 345 West Second Street, P.O. Box 972, Dayton, Ohio 45422. Business hours are Monday through Friday (excluding Holidays) 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.
Process Service Deputies receive legal documents from various local and foreign courts for personal or residential service. Service Fees Ohio Revised Code 311.17 establishes the fees the Sheriff charges for service of legal documents. The exact fee will vary depending on the type of document and mileage. Examples of fees are:

|Mileage||$2.00 for 1st mile and $1.00 for each mile after|
Attorneys and other agencies requesting assistance with service of legal documents should send the original return, service document, and specific instructions for service. The Legal Process Section will invoice by mail for the service. Warrant Service Deputies serve warrants from the various courts throughout Montgomery County and perform extraditions of wanted persons throughout the United States. Execution Service Upon proper notice from the courts, deputies execute restitutions, levies, move-outs, orders of possession and padlock building orders.
